LINCOLN, Neb. (WOWT) - Huskers wide receiver Janiran Bonner will miss the season with a torn ACL, Matt Rhule revealed Monday.

Bonner exited Thursday’s opener versus Cincinnati after a hard tackle in the fourth quarter and did not return. He had one reception for four yards in the 20-17 win.

The junior is a key leader for Nebraska. He was awarded a single-digit jersey, an honor given by team vote to the ten hardest working players.

Bonner appeared in all 13 games for the Huskers last season, catching 11 passes for 67 yards and a touchdown.
