LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Fishermen and dog walkers enjoyed their Sunday evening at Tom Wallace Lake in Jefferson Memorial Forest.

One of those was Ruben Vettiner who often walks his German Shepard in the park.

“It’s nature, coming to the woods, walking through here,” Vettiner said. “And there’s not a lot of people out here usually. Here you can pretty much find a place to park and walk and dogs don’t really have to worry about running into other things.”

Tom Wallace Lake was just redesigned with a new path, swings, a kayak launch and ledges perfect for fishing. This was one of the many projects in the works for the forest.

“I like what they did with [the lake],” Vettiner said. “This looks really good. It’s a little more inviting for people to enjoy this little part of the area.”
