MASON CITY, Iowa — The Iowa 122 reconstruction project in Mason City will enter a new phase on Wednesday, as announced by the Iowa Department of Transportation's Mason City construction office.

The Iowa 122 and Pierce Avenue intersection will close to all turning traffic except for northbound drivers turning east. Eastbound drivers heading to the hospital will need to follow a detour starting at Winnebago Way, continuing on 1st Street Northwest, then south on Taylor Avenue, and finally to 3rd Street Southwest.

Westbound drivers can still access the hospital from Crescent Avenue. Additionally, the east intersection of Willowbrook Drive and Iowa 122 will close to facilitate lane transitions. The traffic pattern for Iowa 122 will continue with no left turns between Pierce and Monroe Avenues
