LATHAM, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- A Capital Region food bank has received 40,000 meals thanks to a donation by Market 32/Price Chopper and Polar Beverages. The two companies had been raising meals for the Regional Food Bank of Northeastern New York throughout the Saratoga Race Course summer meet.

At the start of the race course season, the New York Racing Association announced that Market 32/Price Chopper and Polar Beverages would donate 1,000 meals to the Latham-based food bank each time the #3 horse won the second race. During the 40-day meet, the #3 horse won the second race a total of seven times, totaling a donation of 7,000 meals.
