Going to an Ohio-based movie theater in 2026 could be viewed as an act of patriotism.

That appears to be the subtle message of a campaign called Ohio Goes to the Movies that has been created by America 250-Ohio, the official state commission that has been put in charge of organizing the Buckeye State’s role in celebrating America’s 250th anniversary.

Ohio Goes to the Movies, or OGTTM as it’s also known, is an all-Ohio film series and a statewide celebration of movies showcasing Ohioans who have contributed to the nation’s film industry and the art of moviemaking.

Participating northwest Ohio venues

Lucas County: Cinemark Franklin Park 16 and XD, the Imagination Center, Maumee Indoor Theater, Mayberry Ice Cream, and the Valentine Theatre.

Wood County: Pemberville Opera House.
