CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa (KCRG) - More than 200 people rallied outside the Cedar Rapids ICE Offices this morning as three people were detained during regular immigration check-ins.

Police and Homeland Security agents surrounded the offices just off 33rd Ave Southwest in Cedar Rapids..

ICE says the checkpoint was needed claiming there was vandalism and graffiti from earlier protests.

People protesting outside the Homeland Security building in Cedar Rapids are usually allowed to demonstrate on the front lawn.

But Tuesday morning, every inch of federal property was blocked by police tape. And officers stood around the building, armed with weapons that appeared to be paintball guns.
