The National Weather Service reported an air quality alert at 3:25 p.m. on Tuesday in effect until Wednesday at 5 a.m. for Lane County Cascade Foothills and Cascades of Lane County.

“The Lane Regional Air Protection Agency has issued an Air Quality Advisory, which is IN EFFECT UNTIL 9 p.m. THURSDAY. An Air Quality Advisory for Smoke has been issued. Wildfires burning in the region combined with forecasted conditions will cause air quality to reach unhealthy levels at times through 9 p.m. Thursday. Pollutants in smoke can cause burning eyes, runny nose, aggravate heart and lung diseases, and aggravate other serious health problems.
