LAFAYETTE, La. (KLFY) -- While Corey St. Ewart's idea of Albineaux "Al" Boudreaux never quite resonated with the university, it did gain the hearts of a lot of UL fans who helped fund the project and are now helping bring Albineaux to life.
"I wouldn't be doing this if there wasn't support from it," said St. Ewart.
St. Ewart spent more than 3 years campaigning for UL Lafayette to adopt Albineaux as the next generation of Ragin Cajun mascots, his efforts would be unsuccessful as the University said the character doesn't align with their brand.
Supporters of Albineaux, however, came to the help of St. Ewart; helping him fund the creation of the Albineaux Boudreaux Suit which will be making its first appearance this season at UL tailgates.
