NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WSMV) - There may soon be a ban on where people can park their large trucks in the city of Nashville.

Trucks parked and left on the side of the road have become a growing concern for many living across the city of Nashville. Metro Councilwoman Tasha Ellis with District 29, is proposing an ordinance restricting where box trucks, food trucks, and food trailers can park. The ordinance bans them from city streets and alleys. It’s an update to a current city law lowering the truck size from 18,000 lbs. to 10,000 lbs.

“Food trucks are a thing now. They’re not even mentioned in the current code. So, one thing we cannot have is those large vehicles parking on the streets because they block traffic,” said Ellis.
