DICKSON, Tenn. (WSMV) - A family in Dickson was shocked Sunday afternoon when a white Jeep pulled up outside their home and a person was seen on surveillance video abandoning a dog on their front lawn before driving off.
That dog — now named Gerald — was left in dire condition. Footage shared with WSMV4 shows the person exiting the vehicle, leaving the animal behind, and quickly fleeing the scene.
Leaders at the Humane Society of Dickson County say the act of abandonment isn’t new, but what makes this case stand out is that it was caught on camera.
“People will abandon their animals, or neglect cases will come through our doors,” said Assistant Director Kaylee Morton.
