BECKLEY, WV (WVNS)-- A man was arrested in Raleigh County after attempting to leave the scene of a car accident on Tuesday, September 2, 2025.

The incident report stated that deputies responded to a car accident near the 600 block of old Eccles Road in Beckley. Both the male driver and the female passenger reportedly escaped one of the vehicles involved in the accident and then left the accident on foot.

The driver, later identified as William Marshall, was eventually caught after being held on scene by bystanders until the deputies could arrive.

Marshall was arrested for Driving Revoked – 2nd Offense and is currently being held on bond at Southern Regional Jail.
