LANSING, WV (WVNS) -- With fall just a few weeks away, New River Gorge National Park and Preserve is still seeing hundreds of tourists visiting its land.

Fall is one of the best times to visit the park, according to Supervisor Dave Bieri.

He said he feels that the biggest reason people come to visit the park is the diversity of activities to choose from once you are there.

"Besides really amazing wildlife, the fact that we've got the longest, deepest gorge in the Appalachian Mountains, and one of the most biologically diverse river gorges anywhere, you also have the really unique cultural history here. We've got all these old coal towns and railroad towns that were' really significant," said Bieri.
