WestJet has confirmed that it has placed a large order for up to 96 Boeing 737 MAX and 787 aircraft. The new order brings the airline's total order book to 123 aircraft and 40 options, which should fulfill the airline's fleet needs for almost a decade.

Canadian carrier WestJet says that the order, the largest in its history, will enable it to build a "stronger, resilient low-cost airline" for Canada. While the order is undoubtedly huge, it is weighted more toward the narrow-body Boeing 737 MAX.
