Crews with Port Moody Fire Rescue responded to a small commercial structure fire in the early hours of Wednesday morning.

The fire broke out at the Port Moody Liquor Store, along St Johns Street between Moody and Williams streets.

Fire Chief Darcey O’Riordan says the department first received reports of the fire around 1:30 a.m.

He says a team of 22 firefighters arrived to find the business “fully involved in flames.”

The fire was reportedly contained to one unit, and extinguished with “minor damage” to surrounding units.

O’Riordan says no one was injured in the fire, and its cause is now under investigation.

St Johns Street was temporarily closed while crews worked.
