Retailers across the nation have taken cost-cutting measures to rescue their business, and for some, it has resulted in store closures.

A number of these stores are slated to close locations in September, including At Home, Kroger and Claire’s.

Kroger

Near the end of August, Kroger announced that it was laying off around 1,000 corporate associates in addition closing some of its stores.

These closures are meant to help reinvest the savings into other areas, including lowering prices, opening new locations and creating store-level jobs, according to a company memo.

The major grocery store chain’s website says that it operates in 16 states and has a total of 1,239 locations, the bulk of which are located in Indiana, Kentucky, Texas, Tennessee, Michigan, Georgia and Ohio.
