SHAFTSBURY – The town will be placing updated security cameras at Howard Park.

The Select Board discussed the issue at its meeting on Tuesday. Ongoing problems have ranged from littering to vandalism “to people doing donuts in the parking lot, all sorts of mayhem down there,” said Paula Iken, town manager.

The park is isolated from public view, sitting down an access road about 1,000-feet from Buck Hill Road.

Town Operations Coordinator Jen Holley researched options and recommended the Vosker V300 Ultimate. They are $349.99 each and $20 per month to use the associated app. The town plans to get two of them.
