Connecticut's minimum wage will increase at the start of 2026.
On Jan. 1, the minimum wage in the state will go from $16.35 an hour to $16.94 an hour.

This is a major difference from the start of January 2019, when it was $10.10.
Grace Tottenham is a student at Central Connecticut State University who makes minimum wage working at the student recreation center.
"I think everyone will benefit from it," said Tottenham. "Everyone could use more money.”
Tottenham is one of the many students who are not only taking college courses but also working minimum wage jobs.
On Wednesday, at the American Job Center in Hartford, lawmakers announced those wages are set to rise.
