EAST PEORIA ( 25News Now ) - Two people were taken to a hospital as a precaution after a house fire in East Peoria Wednesday.
East Peoria firefighters were called around 8:45 a.m. Wednesday to the 300 block of Season Drive.
East Peoria Fire Chief Bobby Zimmerman said the fire was brought under control in under seven minutes.
Two people and three pets were rescued from the fire. The individuals were taken to the hospital, and one pet was taken to a veterinary hospital.
Damage is estimated at $25,000, with smoke and heat damage to the house.
The cause of the fire is being investigated. Zimmerman said the house is not a total loss.
No firefighters were injured.
