As the family of Bruce Willis continues to detail the changes in his life, after his frontotemporal dementia diagnosis, one West Michigan woman says she knows the struggles of the disease all too well.
Cindy Koomen described her sister Patty as feisty and unique.
"Growing up, Patty had her own snappy personality and was definitely really kindhearted," said Koomen.
Koomen says she was the oldest of her siblings and they were a tight family.
But in her sister’s early 50s, her friends noticed a change in her personality.
"She got more agitated and maybe a little grumpy. We didn't know if it was life happenings, you know, or what,” said Koomen.
