MINOT, ND (KXNET) — A new and updated program that starts next month is aiming to provide caregivers around the state with new tools to care for themselves and their loved ones.

The NDSU Extension is offering a program to non-paid caregivers of adults with chronic conditions called "Powerful Tools for Caregivers."

Over six weeks, the program provides courses to give more information on how caregivers can care for themselves while also supporting their loved ones.

Myra Badger with the Ward County Extension says this program will help caregivers gain confidence, teach them self-care behaviors, help them manage emotions, and provide them with valuable community resources.
