PEORIA, Ill (WMBD) -- Fall is just around the corner, and whether it's for the crisp autumn air or to enjoy the foliage, it's the perfect time to go out for a walk or hike.
The Vice President and Chief Medical Officer with OSF HealthCare, Dr. Brian Curtis, stopped by to share why it's important to get the recommended amount of steps in every day. The number of recommended steps that people hear most often is 10,000 steps a day, but Dr. Curtis says not to let that number fool you; it all depends on your age.
"It really varies by your age, but something even as low as 2,500 [steps] a day is good," says Dr. Curtis.
