Avery Schmidt has been announced as the varsity baseball head coach at Skyview High School, the school announced.

Schmidt is a 2016 graduate of Skyview , who was the starting shortstop as a freshman on Skyview’s 2013 state championship baseball team .

A three-time all-league selection, Schmidt was also an All-Region pick in 2015. He earned a scholarship to play baseball at Mt. Hood Community College.

Schmidt served as an assistant coach for the Skyview baseball team before being hired as the head coach at Kalama last season.

Schmidt replaces Brian Hansen, who served as the Storm’s head coach from 2021 to 2025.
