Thursday marked our 7th triple-digit day of the year at DFW. We average 20 in a year, so we are still well below that. But it was a very warm afternoon across North Texas.

Fortunately, dew points are low, so we aren't dealing with a heat index.

As we head into Friday, clouds will be on the increase. Expect mainly cloudy skies by the afternoon. Because of that increase in clouds, temperatures will be just a couple of degrees lower than on Thursday.

Those clouds are building thanks to tropical moisture in the Eastern Pacific moving eastward. On top of that, we have a cold front on the way.

The combination of the two will bring us scattered rain chances starting Friday evening and heading into the weekend.

The weekend will not be a washout. The bulk of our rain on Saturday looks to fall
