SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (Dakota News Now) - Since the start of the school year in August, over 26 speeding tickets have been issued in school zones.
On average, school zone speed limits are between 15 and 25 mph.
However, since the start of the school year, over 26 tickets have been issued for speeding in school zones in Sioux Falls.
According to Sioux Falls police, the top speed ticketed was going 22 MPH over the school zone speed limit.
Sioux Falls police urge drivers to slow down around school zones and be aware of their surroundings.
