CHARLOTTE, N.C. (WBTV) - A 26-year-old man was charged by Charlotte police after a two-year investigation into a possible chop shop in southwest Charlotte, according to police.

Charlotte police said on Thursday, Sept. 4, that since June 2023, their Stolen Car and Recovery Law Enforcement Team (SCARLET) had been investigating a property off John Price Road in southwest Charlotte as a possible chop shop.

Police said that with help from the North Carolina Department of Motor Vehicles, they confirmed that multiple stolen or cloned vehicles were on the property, including a Dodge Challenger that was being stripped for parts.
