CHARLOTTE, N.C. (WBTV) - A lottery ticket recently bought from a gas station in Charlotte won a woman $500,000 .

Annette Harper purchased her $2 Lucky for Life voucher from the Circle K along Central Avenue near North Sharon Amity Road.

She won her prize by matching all five white balls in the July 31 drawing. Officials said the odds were 1 in 1.8 million.

When Harper arrived at lottery headquarters on Thursday, Sept. 4, she had a decision to make. She could take $25,000 a year for the rest of her life or $500,000 in cash.

Ultimately, Harper chose the lump sum of cash. After taxes, she took home $279,832.
