Hospital announces layoffs

East Hollywood: Children’s Hospital Los Angeles announced it will layoff or reassign hundreds of employees, affecting 5.8% of its entire workforce. "Approximately 253 team members will no longer have a position at CHLA...," the hospital said in a statement . "An additional 186 team members impacted by the reduction will be offered the option to transfer to adjusted roles." The company said it has recently faced financial challenges, including Medi-Cal's reduction of reimbursement for care. Last month, USC announced the layoff of 89 workers at its Boyle Heights health sciences campus , which includes Keck Hospital and the Keck School of Medicine.
