The Falmouth Bike and Pedestrian Committee wants the Select Board to reconsider its stance on the Bourne Rail Trail.

In December 2023, the Select Board voted 3-2 in favor of sending a letter to the state supporting a 6.5-mile trail between the Cape Cod Canal and the end of the Shining Sea Bikeway in North Falmouth, that did not require tearing up the existing Falmouth Secondary Line (F2) tracks to create the path. Tearing up the tracks would make the project more affordable, but would spell the end of any possible future use of those tracks.
