PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) -- Summer heat remains alongside the chance for a few isolated rain showers Friday around the greater Portland/Vancouver area.

A mostly dry and sunny afternoon will keep valley temperatures in the mid 80s on Friday. Clouds will slowly increase by the early evening hours. A brief and light rain shower or two could move through parts of the Portland/Vancouver area around dinner time. One or two of those showers could produce lightning and thunder for some. Not everyone will see stormy weather on Friday or rain accumulation.

The thunderstorm potential grows across the region on Saturday. Anyone from the coast to the Cascades could see lightning and hear thunder by Saturday evening. Stronger storms could bring small hail, gusty winds, and heavy rain back to the region t
