Ian Murray has lost his job as Scottish Secretary amid an ongoing emergency Cabinet reshuffle by Keir Starmer.
The MP for Edinburgh South is among the high profile casualties of a major reorganisation of the Prime Minister's top team following the shock resignation of Angela Rayner earlier today.
In a statement, the former publican said he was "hugely disappointed" at the decision.
"After the dreadful legacy from the previous government , there is a lot more to work to do," he said. "I will remain as impatient for change as the public. Politics in the UK, and elsewhere, now is at a dangerous crossroads.
"I am hugely disappointed to be leaving government, with so much done and so much more to do."
