A Six Nations artist’s work next to the Truth and Reconciliation crosswalk at Welland Market Square is nearly complete.
Last year, the city issued a call to Indigenous artists to design and paint the memorial block beside the crosswalk to honour Indigenous culture and provide a meaningful public art installation, said Amanda Degazio, the city’s business and community services manager.
In a memo contained in the online city council information package , she said despite extending the call, no submissions were received.
