HOLYOKE, MA (WGGB/WSHM) - The new initiative Holyoke Police are rolling out, as they crackdown on open air drug dealing. Coming after the arrest of 12 suspected drug dealers in the city earlier in the week .
The operation is specifically focusing on several of known ‘hot spots’ for open air drug dealing in city parks and alleyways and residents I spoke with tell me their pleased with the progress.
Holyoke Police Chief Brian Keenan gave Western Mass News an update on the progress of how the policing the parks have had a positive effect. “For the past 4 months the Holyoke Police Department along with our partner agencies have been focusing on quality-of-life street level drug dealing and prostitution arrest and preserving open spaces, parks and open corners.”
