MOBILE, Ala. (WKRG) — Mobile Police Department officers arrested a teenager on Friday in connection with a shooting that injured two men on Sunday, Aug. 31.

According to officials, 19-year-old Akil Lasean Pleasant was arrested on Sept. 5 and charged with four counts of discharging a firearm into an unoccupied vehicle, as well as two counts of first-degree assault.

An MPD news release said their officers were called to the 1600 block of St. Stephens Road around 3 a.m. Sunday, after a fight broke out between men in the street.

Once the officers arrived on the scene, they said they found that shots had been fired during the argument, leaving two male victims with injuries who had been taken to a local hospital by personal vehicle.
