Kevin Guse and Zane Pickus will lead the annual Terry Colborn Memorial Field Trip to Point Reyes on Saturday, Sept. 13.
Point Reyes is one of California’s premier birding hotspots, especially during fall migration. Depending on weather conditions, birders may encounter impressive numbers and a wide variety of songbirds moving through the “Outer Point.” In addition to searching for rare vagrant songbirds, participants can expect to see shorebirds, raptors, other migrants and even several species of mammals.
This is an all-day trip, requiring about two hours of driving each way. Much of the birding will be done on short walks, though some terrain is uneven—sturdy footwear is recommended. Please bring a lunch, plenty of water, and dress in layers.
Participation is limited to three vehicles
