ALBANY, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- The Department of Environmental Conservation (DEC) has opened submissions for its annual Arbor Day Poster contest. This year's theme has been named "Trees for the Future."

Creators of all ages are encouraged to enter original artwork and photography through November 30. Each entry should be in line with the year's theme by demonstrating the connections between people and trees, the importance of planting trees for future generations and the role of trees in providing resilience in today's changing climate.
