NORMAN, Okla. — Michigan freshman quarterback Bryce Underwood did not have a stellar performance in his first road start, but it was a group effort with plenty of blame to go around the offense.

“As far as handling the crowd noise and the atmosphere and all that, he handled it fine,” Michigan head coach Sherrone Moore said. “It was the execution, and that’s everybody, it’s not just him.”

Senior fullback/tight end Max Bredeson, a two-time captain who roomed with Underwood during camp, said he believes the quarterback will bounce back and there’s no concern about his motivation.

“Nobody’s happy after a loss, but I got to live with Bryce for 30 days in a hotel, and you can see the deep drive for stuff like this,” Bredeson said. “This hurts everybody. Nobody wants to lose,
