A Billerica man is facing charges for allegedly brandishing a hatchet and hurling expletives at protesters during a pro-Palestinian demonstration in Harvard Square last month, according to court records.
Matthew Freeman, 40, was arraigned in Cambridge District Court Wednesday on two felony counts of assault with a dangerous weapon, including one on a person over 60 years old, according to court records. He pleaded not guilty to both charges, as well as to a misdemeanor civil rights violation.
