HAZEL – A Hazel man faces criminal mischief and theft charges after the Calloway County Sheriff’s Office responded to a reported disturbance early Friday morning.

According to CCSO, deputies were called at approximately 4 a.m. Friday to a residence on Killdeer Trail in Hazel for a disturbance. It was discovered that two males had gotten into a physical altercation, after which, Jose Trinidad Estrada, 31, of Hazel, allegedly took an axe and caused damage to the front door of the residence, a vehicle on the property and other items. CCSO said it was also discovered that he had a large sum of money on his person that allegedly belonged to another individual.

No one related to the altercation required medical attention. Estrada was arrested and lodged at the Calloway County Jail after being
