HANNIBAL (WGEM) - The 12th annual Paws for a Cause walk in Hannibal featured more than 60 canines on Saturday - all walking for a ‘dog-gone’ good cause.
The Hannibal Regional Foundation (HRF) hosts Paws for a Cause as a fundraiser and a tribute to loved ones who have battled cancer, both in the past and the present.
“Over the years we’ve lost a lot of friends and family to cancer, so this event always helps us be very excited for who’s here with us, but also (to) remember those that walked before us that we still really want to honor and remember with this event,” said Wendy Harrington, CEO and President of HRF.
Participants and their pets trekked a one-mile path at the Hannibal Regional Hospital (HRH) campus, sporting tee shirts with the event’s late mascot, Buddy, who died last year.
