GREENE COUNTY, Iowa -- The Iowa Department of Public Safety has released more information about a deadly officer-involved shooting that happened Saturday night in Greene County.
According to IDPS, around 10:49 p.m. on September 6th, the Greene County Sheriff's Office assisted the Boone Police Department and the Boone County Sheriff's Office on a vehicle pursuit that began in Boone County and entered into Greene County.
The Greene County Sheriff's Office said in a news release that the vehicle stopped just north of 220th Street on T Avenue.
When the vehicle stopped, IDPS said officers encountered 18-year-old Camryn Stonehocker of Boone, who exited his vehicle armed with a weapon. When Stonehocker advanced on officers, one officer fired his weapon. Stonehocker was hit by gunfire and died
