SAN ANTONIO — A 1997-98 Precious Metal Gems emerald basketball card featuring then-rookie San Antonio Spurs ' Tim Duncan has been sold for a whopping $228,000 at auction, surpassing the previous record of $223,860 set in April 2021.
This marks the all-time price record for any Duncan card.
The card is graded at an eight, near-mint, and numbered at 66. It is part of the rare Metal Universe, Metal Gems card line. Sotheby's Auction House even described this line of rare Duncan cards as "holy grails."
It is no wonder that the near-mint card sold for a substantial amount.
