TAYLORS, S.C. (FOX Carolina) - The The South Carolina Department of Public Health (DPH) said three pets in Greenville County have been exposed to a rabid bat.
Officials said bat was found near Locust Hill Road and South Bates Road in Taylors. It was submitted for testing on Sept. 4 and confirmed to have rabies on Sept. 5.
According to the DPH, no humans were impacted.
If you believe you, someone you know, or your pets have come in contact with this bat or another animal that potentially has rabies, please call DPH’s Upstate Greenville-Spartanburg office at 864-372-3270 during normal business hours or after hours and on holidays at 888-847-0902 (Select Option 2).
