The fate of a massive 154-home development has been delayed by officials. The Jelson Homes plan was hugely controversial, attracting a total of 400 objections, but council bosses failed to make a final decision on the scheme.

The plan looks to create 154 homes on agricultural land to the south of Ratcliffe Drive, Peers Way and Preston Way, in Huncote, near Blaby. Speakers from Huncote Parish Council, Huncote Action Group and Blaby district ward councillor Maggie Wright all spoke out against the scheme at the meeting, claiming technical highways issues, sustainability, and flood risk significantly outweighed the benefits of the proposal.
