PHOENIX, AZ — Steve Colby, a standout Alexandria Cardinal athlete from the Class of 1967, passed away unexpectedly at his home in Phoenix, Arizona recently.

Colby was a gifted multi-sport athlete for the Cardinals, earning Most Valuable Player recognition in both football and basketball in his senior year. He was also a standout baseball player.

Colby broke many Cardinal athletic records. Many of those records stood for years. Following his high school graduation, he was offered opportunities to play both sports at the collegiate level.

Colby received a full scholarship to play football and basketball at Moorhead State University as a Dragon. He chose to focus on basketball.
