CENTRAL, La. (WAFB) - A baby raccoon is unrestrained thanks to a Good Samaritan and some care from Central police and firefighters.

A woman was driving down Sullivan Road near Wax Road when she saw the young raccoon struggling to get a bottle off of its head.

She was able to keep it away from the street until help arrived.

A post shared to the Central Police Department Facebook page shows officers, along with firefighters from the Central Fire Department, working together to cut the raccoon free.

Central police report the bottle was carefully removed from the baby’s head, and the little one was safely released back into the wild.
