The Washington Commanders have missed out on adding a veteran wide receiver to their roster after they hosted the New York Giants for the season opener. Kendrick Bourne visited the San Francisco 49ers and the Washington Commanders last week, but wasn’t going to sign with either team until after week 1. Adam Schefter is reporting that Bourne is returning to his former team, signing a 1-year deal with a max value of $5 million. GM Adam Peters was in the 49ers front office when Bourne was signed as an UDFA in 2017, but wasn’t able to get him to join the Commanders. Bourne signed with the New England Patriots in 2021, and spent the last four seasons there before requesting his release last month.
