Secretary of War Pete Hegseth arrived in Puerto Rico on Monday, the U.S. territory's governor said.

According to Gov. Jenniffer González, she posted on "X" that Hegseth, as well as General Dan Caine, Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, arrived in Puerto Rico.

In her post González also thanked the Trump administration for recognizing the strategic value Puerto Rico has when tackling drug cartels, and she also criticized Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro.
