Daylight saving time, a time change considered by many as being pesky, began on March 9. In fact, a Gallup poll from January found 54% of Americans aren’t in favor of daylight saving time. That’s compared to the 73% who were in favor in 1999 when Gallup last measured people’s opinions on daylight saving time.
In 2022, the U.S. Senate unanimously approved the Sunshine Protection Act that would make daylight saving time permanent, however the U.S. House of Representatives did not pass it and former President Joe Biden did not sign it.
