ANN ARBOR, Mich. — Injured Michigan safety Rod Moore is nearing his long-awaited return to the football field.
The former all-Big Ten defensive back suited up and took part in pregame warmups ahead of the Wolverines’ 24-13 loss to Oklahoma, but never saw live game action.
That could change as soon as this Saturday in Michigan’s non-conference finale against Central Michigan (Noon, Big Ten Network), head coach Sherrone Moore said.
“We think there’s a good chance that Rod could play this week,” Moore told reporters on Monday. “We’ve been very cautious with him. No one knows their body like Rod, and he wanted to play in that game, believe me.”
