MOUNTAIN HOME, Ark. (KY3) - Baxter County authorities arrested a woman for the death of a baby.

Terra Thompson faces multiple charges, including second-degree murder.

On August 29, investigators noticed bruising on the side of the baby’s face. Emergency crews transferred the baby to Baxter Health and then to a hospital in Little Rock for a brain bleed. Investigators say Terra Thompson admitted to slamming the baby down on the living room floor, hitting the baby, and attempting to cover the bruising with makeup.

The baby died a day later in the Little Rock hospital.
